The village of Trnovače is located two and a half kilometres south of Foča. The house in Trnovače was a private house that used to belong to Bosniak Halim Čedić, but after the conflict broke out, it was occupied by Gojko Janković, deputy commander of the VRS Military Police and paramilitary leader. This house was turned into a private detention facility for Bosniak women, who would be brought in from other detention facilities and raped and abused there. Some of the detainees were being held in sexual slavery at the Trnovače house for several months. This detention facility was managed by Gojko Janković, but the detainees were also raped by other members of the VRS.
