High School Centre in Foča
The High School Centre in Foča, located in Aladža, served as one of the main detention facilities for women. Captured women, gathered together in Buk Bijela, were transferred to the High School Centre, from where later they were mostly transferred to the “Partizan” sports hall. Living conditions in the High School Centre were inhumane, and the women were regularly tortured, raped, and taken to other locations, where they were raped by Serbian soldiers.
The High School Centre in Foča was secureded by guards, headed by Mitar Šipčić, a member of the Foča Crisis Staff. The guards prevented the female detainees from exiting, but did not prevent the soldiers from entering this detention facility.
